I Don't Care if I Have Wrinkles

I don't care if I have wrinkles,
and very imperfect skin,
extra pounds on my hips,
age lines on my once full lips,

I'm actually better at loving now,
myself and others around,
Very grateful for the miracle of life
and better even
at handling rudeness and strife

Healing and shaping,
My potter has done,
To make me better,
still sometimes fun,

I don't care if I have wrinkles,
and very imperfect skin,
extra pounds, more age lines,
The merry difference is
I am better than FINE

Not because of Me,
But for whom I belong,
Trusting in Jesus,
Is never a wrong,

He's taught lessons along the way,
Healed some hurts,
Revealed some sin,
That's more than OK
'Cause with Him,
it's a WIN

Sometimes, He did His wonderful work, miraculously, with out me asking.  I don't mind the wrinkles and signs of time, for it is evidence of time past, with my Lord, doing His work in my life.  I am better because of Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; all things are become new.

  1. And I don't care if my hair is gray!
To dye it would make me feel locked away
In the jail of yet another routine.
I'll thank the Lord for my gray-haired gene.

    Thanks for this encouraging post!
    Blessings to you!

  3. Love this! It is so true > "I'm actually better at loving now,
myself and others around, Very grateful for the miracle of life and better even at handling rudeness and strife." I am grateful for the lessons learned down through the years.

  4. I'm better at so many things now, because the laugh lines and lines that mark the sorrow and strife have helped transform me as I learned to turn to God and let Him work.
