A Mouthful for Dealing with RUDENESS that Bites and Hurts

part 1 of 3; dealing with rudeness
2 minute read

I believe it stems from thought life,
or absence of training,
or yielding to self,
Certainly rudeness, on God, we can't blame,

Motivation central to heart,

Rude annoying comments,
Meant to insult,
Pin down,
Maim
inform or change?

Do you think it's becoming?
Do you think it shows love?

Maybe you shouldn't say it.

If in word or action, or lack there-of
How should we deal
 With rudeness?

Not re-pay rude for rude
or mean for mean
In YOU, for Christ's sake,
His light should be seen

Kindness,
Consideration,
Sweetness,
Generosity,
Let your overflowing cup
Spill over in thirst quenching
Refreshment from your blessings
unseen!

.....................................................................
James 1:2-4
2.My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations
3.Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4.But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James 1:25-27
25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26) If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27) Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

What a wonderful mouth full those scriptures are !!  And do you, like me, find them just what you need at the thought of dealing with rude comments?

Let's face it, RUDE can be on purpose or on accident.  If it is not intended to build up or express kindness, gentleness, LOVE or good manners, and instead it offends or annoys, IT'S PROBABLY RUDE !

It happens now and then, and we have to deal with it, on the receiving end sometimes, somehow, either actively or passively.

May the Holy Spirit be our guide and our teacher, that WE are NOT RUDE back !

Galations 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Personally I am gonna rest in this.
I am wishing YOU, peace in the Sonshine.  Thanks for visiting.  More short reads on this soon.

  1. I do agree that if we are hungry, angry, lonely, tired we are more likely to be rude. I was rude this morning because a banker could not process what I wanted in the time I needed it. I walked out thinking, that was not a Jesus like thing to say. I could have just said not thank you and left. I find we are often in our own worlds and very unaware of what we sound and look like especially in our families.

    1. SUCH A GREAT POINT Tanya !! That is so true. I remember some very sad blunders of my own......... for being in "my own world," or "in my head." Thanks for stopping by , and taking the time to comment.

  2. We really need to watch what we say and consider its possible impact before we open our mouths. Thanks for this reminder, Tammy!
