Welcome to another edition of Blogging Through the Bible! From Psalms 145 and 146, I have copy and pasted some of the most thought provoking parts, and added my comments in blue. I hope that you enjoy, and share your thoughts as well.

Psalm 145

3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.

11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

We simply can not praise the Lord enough, and truth be told, most of us could probably improve on frequency and enthusiasm of our testimony to the world, the generations, the people, family, and community of all ages, about the majesty, power, faithfulness and goodness of our God... It is is supposed to be a common topic of discussion!!

Psalm 146

3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Stressed because of politics? Senators, politicians, Presidents, governing bodies, seem untrustworthy and scary? We are supposed to put our trust in our Heavenly Father first, and keep our eyes on Him. Our HOPE in Him above any earthly person.

8 The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:

The mention of "eyes of the blind," piqued my interest. I have a dear friend who is losing his vision. It has been verified that a degenerative eye disease was inherited in his genetic code. Genetics make ME super tall like my dad, and give this young man lean muscles and six-pack abs on his belly with out him even working out... also give him this eye disease. News flash: Our bodies are designed by genetic code...

Personally, I accept modern medicine as a gift from God. I have another family close to me, that had many prayers answered along the path to Robert to becoming a heart transplant survivor and thriver! Modern medicine. Prayers for strength, guidance, healing... answered, in part by modern medicine, that was undeveloped 50 years ago.

I could not have prayed myself to be short rather than tall, and my friend who is losing his vision from this eye disease can no more pray this eye disease away, than... an severely autistic child be prayed NORMAL or I could have ever prayed to be SHORT. Lest it is fitting in the Lord's will...

I know that God can HEAL. I believe every healing story in the Bible. I obediently pray for healing, and I believe in having the elders anoint with oil and pray... but I will not take this verse to mean that God promises physical sight to the blind.

Psalm 139:11-12 King James Version (KJV)

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Physical darkness and light, makes no difference to the Father. What do you suppose He would rather His child to have? Physical sight and yet be spiritually blind? Does not the Bible teach that if we desire wisdom, we may ask and He will give liberally? Is wisdom, His Word, not the light to our path? Yes and yes.

James 1:5 (KJV)

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Pity not my friend whose physical eye-sight is deteriorating. Pity the man who knows not the Lord, and cares not for His wisdom. My friend will live in light, though his eyes quit showing it to the vision part of his brain. His spirit is in constant communion with His Father. He will be more than fine and He will have light into eternity and beyond, as the Lord wills and provides.....

What stands out to you from these two Psalm chapters? Is there a passage from these Psalms that you have memorized, or would like to memorize? Do you often and readily bring up for discussion WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE or is doing, to teach and tell the children and your peers? Do you think we give Him enough glory and attention? How do you want to improve?

Oh Lord, I am grateful that I know You, and that You have called me into Your family, and that Your Word is abundantly available for me, and in my country. Thank you that you give wisdom to who asks for it! HElP me to know Lord, what I can do for You. You please open the doors and direct my paths into service for You. Please grow in me and through me increasingly bountiful spiritual harvest (good fruits in my own life and beyond). In Jesus's name I pray, amen.
