Psalms 99-100 Devotional

Psalm 99-100 King James Version (KJV)

99 The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved.
The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people.
Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.
The king's strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
Exalt ye the Lord our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.
He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
Thou answeredst them, O Lord our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy.
100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

How classic and glorious, is this wisdom and exhortation?  The Lord is worthy of all honor and praise, and we have the opportunity to be His through Christ Jesus as our Savior.
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Does lifting your voice to make a joyful noise in worship come easily for you?
Me?  No.  But words... from me, yes.  I am most comfortable with writing.  Isn't it interesting and intriguing how He designed us and pruned us each to be different, each with talents and inclinations or a different purpose?

How blessed we are if we know Him, and our hearts are turned to Him, seeking Him, and desiring His kingdom to come, His will to be done! In Heaven I think I will do better at praise and worship and making a joyful noise.

How do YOU seek to grow for Him ?

I thank you Father for revealing Yourself in Word and through prophets, and through Jesus.  Thank you for offering to adopt us through Your Son Jesus Christ.  Thank you for calling me to be Yours.  Help me to get better and better at worshiping you and directing glory and honor to You, and in offering a joyful noise.  Thank you for preparing a place for your beloved children, in Heaven.  In Jesus's name I pray, amen.

  1. When I try to shout, it sounds like a strangling sound, lol! I do sing in praise and worship. I would love to write more faith stuff but I can't force it. I guess every other thing I share on my page matters because although they are not straight from the Bible, they are relatable stuff about contemporary events and issues. So my prayer is that I keep it civil and God-honouring as a lot is happening to make one lose their cool and it's easy for sociopolitical commentary to become callous and dismissive of people in authority and those who think differently from me.
Sorry, this has been long but I was trying to answer the question you posed about how the reader would like God to use them.
    Love always! 💖
