Godly Response to Mysterious Thoughts and Visions; Intercessory Prayer

1.5 minute read
When I was in my thirties, I had some strange thoughts and visions.  Here I will only address one in particular, that I took as a lesson.

There was a young man who I did not know well.  I had a single class period with him one single year, of the 6 years that we went to the same school.  His parents had known my mother in her childhood, I learned.  His parents were lovely and when we moved to this area, they drove 20 miles out of their way to visit my parents and be friendly a few times.

I never hung out with the young man.  We did not fellowship together in any setting.

About 13 years past high school, I was married and with a small baby.  I remember walking down the long hallway of my house and all of a sudden, I did not know why, over and over I had "visions" of him.  In the visions, he did not say anything and he did not seem to be in distress.

I thought these visions very strange only because I did not know WHY I would be seeing him in my mind.  I brushed it off.

At the end of the week when I talked to my mother on the phone she told me the tragic news, that Sam (name changed) had killed himself.

This incident and a few others, I surely will not have full understanding of in this life.  I can only take as evidence of the world or realm invisible to our fleshly eyes.

Eventually, I got the message,"When/if, someone comes to your mind, with specific information or not..... PRAY for them."

Simple:  When someone crosses your mind, PRAY for them.

Can't go wrong with that!

Thanks for letting me share.  I would delight for you to comment or share your experiences.

Blessings in the Sonshine,

It seems insensitive to mention Sam, and not say more.  Link here, to respectfully share a bit more, including what I recently learned at a suicide prevention training (provided for teachers at my school).https://grandmamarymartha.blogspot.com/2017/11/suicide-prevention-dealing-with-someone.html

    1. Thank you for visiting, and dropping me a line Sandi. Blessings sister!

  2. So so true! I thought the same for a while, wondering why random people would pop up in my mind. Then my mom told me to start praying for them and allow God to lead the prayer because they were obviously going through something and needed the help.

    1. Ishah, I think your mother was wise! The Lord's will be done. May we be used for His purposes.

  3. God gives us amazing gifts in attempts to reach out to others or provide prayer for them. Thank you for reminding us of these gifts and to act upon them! God bless!

  4. Wow..this is so powerful!!!!!!!!!!..Tammy Also dreaming of someone..and I did not pray, one was murdered in that family and I kept dreaming of this family and her son died later. I felt I could have prayed.

    1. It is a sensitive subject, or can be. I believe we should pray, for sure! Blessings sister.

  5. Something I recently learned is that every person I meet and every conversation I engage in is God’s plan. So I keep my ears wide open to learn something.
You have just mentioned prayer for people you get visions about. Mine was not a vision, but I recently met a lady in the hospital with a mysterious wound that swelled her left leg and was so painful. I just overheard her telling someone that was the second occurrence. I don’t know her, neither did I talk to her but I always remember her in my prayer.

    1. exemplifying a loving and wise follower of Jesus, Judith! Bless you.

  6. Sorry about Sam, Tammy. When all is negative and those about us paint negative. . ..all seem hopeless and then contemplation of suicide can take hold.It is better to be connected to others and in association with Christians and freinds, plus read your Bible
