Which are you ??

My daughter and I recently went on a road trip.  When we got 40 minutes down the road only to discover that we ( me ) had forgotten something important...... we had to turn around, go home, and start our trip again.

I filled up the car up with gasoline, and bought us each a consolation candy.  I picked Snickers.  She picked Sour Patch Kids.
( YUCK on hers !!)

She loves them.  They make my mouth pucker and to eat one is torture.  (She had me try one a month ago.)

How analogous of our individuality, but don't put us in a box.

She is the one that laughs more frequently, but I chose Snickers. (For my international readers, "snicker" is sometimes used in America, to mean laugh.  "Snickers" candy is sweet salty with carmel chewey chocolate-y sweetness with peanuts.)

I am the one that would be inclined to a sour mood, but she chose Sour Patch.

Which one would you be?
Which one would you choose?

Cool thing is,
No matter your choice,
You can still rejoice,
No one here will loose,

God made us all different,
Our talents and tastes,
Lets be loving and kind,
And accept-ant of  differences,
in preferences, or race,

We are all made by Him,
He must have created those differences,

Sweet, sour, chocoate-y, nutty,
Be grateful for all,
in you and your buddy,

All glory  for each to the Creator,
For blessing us all,
Giving us candy, and sweetness and all,

May we acknowledge the contrasts,
Enjoy what is ours,
Respectful of the others.....

Variety is purposely provided,
in children and mothers....

Parents, whether God gave you a Snickers or a Sour Patch Kid, or whether you are in a snickers day or a sour patch day, that kid needs your LOVE, kindness, guidance.  Appreciate and respect the differences in creation.  Know that God made each with a unique path planned.  Pray, love, and counsel to honor the unique path the Lord set for your unique child.  His word being the light to the path.

Proverbs 11:14
... in a multitude of counselors there is safety.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

  1. This is nice analogy my friend. Well, both of my kids are sweet as chocolates but what sets them apart is what's inside of them. My daughter is sweet but tough, like a little chewy, sour dried fruit on a chocolate bar. While my son is sweet but crunchy, like bits of pecan or walnut in a chocolate bar. They are different in many ways but I enjoy them both. Thank you for giving me another beautiful side of mothering.
