Memories and Other Good Stuff

This picture represents a great memory of mine.  Round about 1973, Mom would occasionally give my sister and me $1.00.  We would  ride our bikes, with two doggies loaded along. (Sissy rode in the kid backseat, and later we learned that her daughter Prissy rode in the front basket, on a blanket.)  We would ride to the corner convenience mart about 3 blocks away, and we would each get a glass  bottle of apple juice, and a packaged fried apple pie.  I suppose this was mom's quiet time at home for the week or so.  She was "childless,"  for precious few moments.

We live in a different world today.  That double snack that my sister and I got would likely cost 8 or 10 dollars now.  Neither of my children have been given the freedom to ride anywhere (as children) unsupervised on their bicycle.  I long came to terms with this.  My goal was that they would have a "different but GOOD," life, and to remember the priceless treasures here to share, like salvation and wisdom from God.

Eternal treasures,
Happy memories,
Those are honorable goals.
Between the work, responsibilities and chores, what shall our children learn?  Some stuff we give them, will pass and be temporary.  Some will be lasting.

What shall our kids  remember?
What will they carry on?
What will they have learned?
Hopefully

Apple pies and sweet juice,
Bicycle rides, and swims,
There are many ways to share and grow,
Memories and stuff,
They may forever know.✰

God, help us to serve them well,
and teach them
what lasts,✰

I would delight,
that in comments below,
With us a sweet memory you'd tell,
'Bout you, or your children,
 Life done well,

Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved,  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

♡ Deuteronomy 6:7
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when  you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

"Lord, I thank you for all the children that you put in our lives!  Now days, mothers, and children, have stresses and pressures in some way increased as compared to by-gone years, and in some way RELIEF.  Give the adults wisdom, strength, and LOVE to be obedient and TEACH the children of YOU, Your Ways, Your Will, and help the mother's to find ways to speak and act to demonstrate it is a priority in their heart.  We give you all honor and glory Father.  We would not want to live this life with out You.  In Christ's name, JESUS, I pray."
