This has been on my heart,
I just wanted to share,
It is easy to assume, and jump to conclusions,
and then
to accidentally compare,
and then to get down in self pity, self loathing or despair,
when it seems there is someone else,
who has a life easier than you,
I wanted to remind you,
it is probably not true,
exactly as you think it is,
Remember,
we all are just people
doing the best that we can
In God's eyes no one is really better or worse as woman or man (*1)
We each have seasons, of love, trials, sadness, (*2)
In Christ, we should focus on His blessing and gladness (*3)
Truly we each have HURTs,
DISAPPOINTMENTS,
PAINS,
that we choose not to talk about,
we choose not to name,
Could be a memory,
or thing of here and now,
and injury or a scar
that we still feel
We choose not to talk about it,
because we know YOU can't help,
or maybe we are protecting YOU,
or someone, or something,
We choose to try and ignore it,
We do the best that we can,
Let's try to remember that, and love and grace show,
Do not assume someone's life is all happy glorious glow,
Until we get to Heaven, we are all here in this fallen world,
I am ever so grateful that in His arms we may go,
I pray you also know Him
and His LOVE,
and Healing,
through you will flow
We may all have the privilege, to take our
Hurts
Pains
Disappointment
And into His Loving arms, we are invited to go

*1) Deuteronomy 10:17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great GOD, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality, nor takes a bribe.
*2) from Ecclesiastes 3 ...
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under the heaven:
...A time to heal,
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance...
(These seasons belong to us all. Keep your eyes on Christ.)
*3) Romans 5:11 ...we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
"God, I ask for your help, to keep my eyes on YOU and your AWESOMENESS and not to look at others and be tempted to compare myself to them. You made us all. You love us all. You want good things for us all, and you have made the ultimate provision for us all, by providing Jesus Christ, that we may look forward to eternity in Heaven because of our Savior. I pray that I would LOVE for you, here in the flesh, and waste no energy looking to compare...."

a bit of a funny comment - my pastor's always telling us not to assume.....ANYTHING... :)
ReplyDeleteYep ! Wisdom there ! Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, Tammy! Unfair comparison is trap. The grass often looks greener on the other side but it's just an illusion because God knows exactly what we need and He'll provide it for us at just the right time.
ReplyDeleteI always appreciate how your comments edify us towards our Father, Edith. Thank you sister!
DeleteSo true! We never know what someone else is going through. The enemy is cruel. The comparison trap keeps us from being able to fully see all our own blessings. God is so good to each of us! ❤
ReplyDeleteWe don't know the struggles in other people's lives. We should try to make everyone's lives better.
