My Daddy, Personal Father's Day Tribute, 2017

Above, is my daddy's, "soak up the love," face.

And this is my Daddy's smile!!  I wish you could see his blue eyes that sparkle like a precious jewels.
................................

Right here, is one of the first, greatest blessings of my life.  My daddy.  He chose the BEST when he chose my mother.

They worked hard to make their marriage work.  It was not always easy.  Their style of living was, "Children come first," but don't misinterpret that to incorrectly assume that this means my sister and I were spoiled.  I worked at the same restaurant from the time I was 16 until I was 23, and a senior at college.  I missed out on fun and social opportunities because I was required to work, but I have nothing but gratitude about that.

We were taught to be responsible and contribute, and work toward our goals.  Still I can say that Mom and Dad put kids first because they did not work to spend money on fun get-away excursions.  Where they went, they took the kids, often others besides their own (numerous cousins).

Honestly my fondest memories revolve around very traditional everyday roles that were repeated day after day, week after week.  Mom had dinner ready about the time Daddy came home from his work at the Reynolds Metal Refinery.  When Daddy arrived home from work, his two little girls RAN to him to jump on him, hug him, kiss him, and then.............sit down for a GAME. [Trouble, Parcheesi, Old Maid....]  I have to admit here, that soon the different natures of my sister and me, caused me to "cop-out."  I thought younger sister talked too much and was too giggly or silly.  She got on my nerves!  (I am sure I more than got on hers as well.).....Yet I treasure these memories.

I am grateful that my daddy brought laughter and play into our family, and later...my children's.  He taught my son to play Chess, and my daughter to play poker with pennies.

To my children, laughter is practically synonymous with their Bibi (their name for my Daddy.)  At every stage of my life, my Daddy was trustworthy, loyal, encouraging, supportive and FUN. He has spent his life giving to his family.
