Psalm 105-106

Have you read Psalms lately?  Wow the richness for review of God's miracles, humility, and appropriate perspective for Bible-believers to assimilate!  Psalm 105 is another wonderful re-telling of many of God's Old Testament miracles and feats for the people that He loved, and so much more.

I urge you to read the whole book...over and over and over...all of your life!

Consider these excerpts with me:

from Psalm 105
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
from Psalm 106
Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
47 Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.

I just can't top scripture.  I don't want to...but I admire how my sisters Stacey Lynn Wells @ Words from the Wheel, and Angela G @ No Longer Lukewarm, always seem to come up with clever and interesting insight or life application to share!  I just can not do it how they do it, but I can enjoy what they write, and I can enjoy my turns to write for our Blogging Through the Bible endeavor.  (Follow links to see more).

Have you talked about the "marvellous works He hath done," in Bible history, or in your own life, with people who you come in contact with?  Children? Family? Friends?  Can you think about His marvelousness too much?  Is it possible to talk about His marvelousness too much?

Are you righteous at all times, or at times have you done "wickedly?"  I have.  Do you agree with me, that verse 47 and 48 of chapter 106 could be a prayer that applies today?

Oh Heavenly Father, maker of the universe, miracle do-er, and provider of my Savior Jesus, forgive me for when I have erred and done or thought evil in Your sight.  I pray that through the power of the Holy Spirit I will grow sweeter and sweeter in the divine fruits of the Holy Spirit!

Please grow in me, a strong witness and testimony of Your power, Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and my hope and faith in Jesus Christ.  Let me speak increasingly boldly of YOUR TRUTHs and let me live humbly and love sincerely.  In Jesus's name I pray, amen.

  1. Thank you, Tammy, for the sweet mention, and for the sweet devotion here today. I'm thankful for Psalms! Even the hard ones! They make us all pause and think a bit on what matters most <3
