Psalm 65-66 Devotional

I would characterize Psalm 65 and 66 as verses expressive of worship, giving God honor, glory, and the treasure of fellowship or prayer.  I see evidence here, of prayers aloud, with language such as "extolled with my tongue," and "my mouth spoken," but we know that from a man's heart, his tongue speaks.  This means that before the words are uttered with mouth and tongue, the message was in the Psalmists heart.  Also we know that God knows what is in a man's heart before he speaks.  Nothing is secret from God.

May we have worship of God welling up in our heart and spilling in every way, through service, through praise both audible and silent meditations, and may our lives shine with LOVE.

Luke 6:45 King James Version (KJV)

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

1 Samuel 16:7 King James Version (KJV)

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Proverbs 15:8 King James Version (KJV)

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

Psalm 66:13-20
13 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
14 Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.
16 Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
17 I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.

What would your expression of worship and gratitude be?  I challenge you to make your personal list of what YOU are so very grateful for.  In what blessings does God enrich you and move you to worship?  Is it in looking at nature...hearing music... feeling your child's hand in yours? Think about how the Father has blessed you, and give Him the gratitude, glory and honor as the Psalmist did.

Romans 12:3 King James Version (KJV)

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Dear Lord, I am so grateful for my measure of faith!  I depend on you to continue to supply me with what I need, to have a strong spirit for Your purposes.  May I grow ever increasing in passion and perspective to give YOU due glory and honor and to be used by you to love and serve.  All of my wonderful blessings come from You, the giver of all good gifts.  All praise and honor to You Father, in Christ Jesus I pray, AMEN

James 1:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
