Just because the lettuce is cut off from the root that is planted in the ground, and carried away from the garden, doesn't mean that there is no life. Indeed, it is still living.
As I cut off the tops of this lettuce plant (to eat in a salad), and gave the bottom part clean water to drink............ look... see that the life drank, and in my window where it was invigorated with sunshine, it in fact, GREW more.
If you have felt cut off from the root of your faith (not connected to any fertile fellowship or study), if you have been absent from fellowship in the thriving garden...........you can still GROW.
Find the source. Find your everlasting fountain. Find the Sonshine that your Father offers. Focus on Him, and then reach for fellowship and find encouragement through like-minded spiritual family.
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Drink, fellowship, bask, and GROW.
Then you can be a source of nutrition for someone.......
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters.
