The drive to the dentist this week was close to an hour and half long, through beautiful country that I am blessed to call home for the last 11 years. I was alone, and in my thoughts.
I was thinking about a friend, who is struggling with major depression. I was thinking about some disappointments in life.
I caught myself. I thought, "Tammy, you're not very cheery. Why don't you start PRAISING THE LORD for what He has done?"
So I did.
I started recalling prayers that had been answered,
and marveling at, and naming the blessings that the Lord has brought in to my life, and my family's life.
In a very short time, I was smiling ear to ear.....the kind of smile that makes your mouth hurt if you hold it too long. It was WONDERFUL !!
(shaking fist) "Take that Satan! You will NOT get me down! The Father has blessed me, and I will praise His holy name and everyday, seek to live my life for Him..."
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I share this to encourage all. I promise you, I could complain. There is downright disgusting and truly sad things that I could dwell on, that effect my life, my world.
We all have to make a choice on where we allow our brain to dwell...........
Blessings on your travels. May it be in the loving Sonshine.

I contacted my blogger friend Melissa (a Christian mental health therapist) and asked her if she had anything written up to address thought-life.
She was kind to share, and now I share with you. Here is an article she wrote to help you "fight the negative with truth." Follow the link here: https://humblefaithfamilywellness.com/positive-self-talk/
Here she gives very cool advice that I think is worth taking NOTES on and practicing, when you are in a struggle. It is about setting faith filled intentions (or goals) and following up with a plan to support the journey to progress. I hope you read and are blessed: https://humblefaithfamilywellness.com/positive-thinking-faith-filled-intention/
