Potato Mom is Victorious Despite Insult

Finally, I was awake and dressed, aiming to go to Sunday School for the first time in YEARS.

I walked in to the living room, and after taking one look at me, my daughter burst in to laughter, and told me, "You look like a potatoe!"

"Seriously?"
"I don't care what you think.  I am a 53 year old mom, whose knee is swollen from running and cheering at your cross-country meet yesterday.  This is comfortable.  I don't care that I don't look 16, 20, 30, or 40!  I'd look really bad if I tried to wear what I wore 20 or 40 years ago."

I tried another black skirt, which was more form fitting, but my daughter thought I looked like a potato in both of them. Ultimately I went to Sunday School, wearing what I intended to wear in the first place, and I am so glad I did!

This is why I am glad I did:

I have not been to Sunday School in a long time.  I can easily find reasons or excuses to NOT get up and going an hour earlier on Sundays, but I have a friend who has been habitually going to Sunday School, and she has been sweetly, "talking it up," to me.

I have been saying that I was going to go, and today I finally did, and I didn't let the reference to potato, stop me. (Yea me, and thanks be to God for encouragement!)

1) In this class, everything that was said, was to exhort God's word and build up believers !!

2) I believe the Holy Spirit was present, and strongly with us, because I had peace and joy as I met a few new people, and re-connected with others.

3) Our teacher was amazing! Scripture quotes rolled off of his tongue continuously, and he kept things moving at a steady pace, incorporating feedback regularly from brothers and sisters who had done their homework and were ready to answer questions based on their Bible study during the week.

4)  I have my homework papers, and truly look forward to next week.  Getting up  early for this, is so worth it!!

.........................................................................

Don't let HELL or high water, or potato insults, stop you from doing the thing that you have wanted to do,or thought about doing.......which you think......... God could or would use to GROW you!  Follow where He leads, where His spirit pulls.  He rewards obedience!

♡Thank you to my friend whose appreciation and enthusiasm, finally got me to this class♡

God bless you in your journey. Dear readers, I pray you will be so blessed as to find a class that is so focused on God's word, but rich in love from the Holy Spirit as well.

  1. If I may ask: Is what you're wearing in the pic what you wore to church? It's beautiful! Glad you made it. Sunday School is such a great time for both kids and adults.

    1. Yes, Edith, that is exactly what I was wearing, when my daughter told me I looked like a potato! It is what I wore to church that day. Thank you sister, for visiting and encouraging.
