Laughter is Good Medicine

Oh girls !!  I am so excited to share this with you today..............

Us oldies, are aware, that before Pinterest, community and family recipe books like this were our richest source of fantastic, tried and true recipes.

Recently I was browsing through this one, and I had the best time, reading the JOKES at the bottom of each page.  I do not know where they came from before they were put in this book, but hope you get the giggles like I did, as you read these little drops of gooey honey, from a recipe-book created by my hometown, when I was a teen:

* You've reached middle age, when all that you exercise is caution.

*Learn from the mistakes of others.  You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

* The girl who thinks no man is good enough for her may be right.......then again she may be left.

*Sad fact of life.........square meals make round people.

*The only food that never goes up in price......... is food for thought.

*One of the mysteries of life is how a boy who wasn't good enough to marry your daughter can be the father of the smartest grand child in the world.

*Some people are making such thorough preparation for rainy days, that they aren't enjoying today's sunshine.

*Food kept from going to waste, sometimes goes to waist.

*Life is God's gift to us, what we make of it , is our gift to God.

*Worry is a mountain climbing over molehill.

*Be careful how you live; you may be the only Bible some people will ever read.

*A friend is one who knows all about you  and still likes you.

*Seconds count, especially when dieting.

*There's no sense in advertising your troubles.  There's no market for them.

*A perfect wife is one who doesn't expect a perfect husband.

*Swallow your pride occasionally.  It's non-fattening.

*Prayer should be the key of the day, and the lock of the night.

*In seeking happiness for others, you find it for yourself.

*The fool wonders.  The wise man asks.

*A man wrapped up in himself, makes a very small bundle.

*Its not he who has little, but he who wants more who is poor.

*The longer you keep your temper the more it will improve.

*The girl who searches too long for a smart cookie is apt to wind up with a crumb.

*The upper crust is just a bunch of crumbs stuck together with their own dough.

(The last two made me laugh the most.)

Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

Job 8:21

He will yet fill your mouth with laughing, and your lips with rejoicing.

I hope you giggled over some of these!  Have a wonderful blessed day.  Thank you for visiting me here.  I would always be glad to hear one of your favorite funnies below.

  1. They are fun to read. Some are hilarious but packed with truth and wisdom! My favorite is: A perfect wife is one who doesn't expect a perfect husband.
